JUAN RIVAS

Juan Rivas (b. 1974) was born in Pontevedra, where he is currently a secondary school teacher. He studied Fine Arts in his hometown and was on Erasmus at Kingston University in London.
Juan paints landscapes on poles or lamps so that, once the drawing is finished, from that point, the landscape and his portrait can be seen simultaneously. He uses quick drawing techniques like chalk, colored pencils, markers or acrylic paint to capture the light of the moment.
He has exhibited in numerous cities, including Santiago de Compostela and Madrid, in Spain, or St. Polten and Vienna, Austria. He carried out interventions in public spaces in projects such as Karakallio Creative (Finland), Kaldarte or Asalto Alfamén (Spain).
