Daniel Tavares Nicolau aka Defski (b. 1973, France) began his artistic career in the collective of musicians from Covilhã, “Factor Activo”. Between 1991 and 2006 he participated in several national and international compilations, highlighting the album edited in 2003 by Loop Recordings “Em directo do Fim do Mundo".
Between 2006 and 2020 he produces soundscapes for several creations by the Centro Cultural Vila Flor, Laboratório de Artes Performativas do Veleda (PARTIS - Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian), Quarta Parede, Pé de Pano and Moagem.
Since 2012 he has collaborated with the American publisher 8dio (directed by Troels Folmann) having participated in three compilations, the last one published in 2020: “Free ASMR”.
He worked on several projects with Magda Henriques (Serralves Educational Service), Leonor Barata (Paulo Ribeiro Company), photographers Augusto Brázio and Nelson d'Aires, António Jorge Gonçalves (Festival Imago- Fundão), Tó Trips and the Coro Misto da Beira Interior.
